Overview
Baldiyat Meadow
Perched above Attabad Lake, Baldiyat Meadow is a lush alpine pasture that rewards trekkers with panoramic views of the lake, Hispar Glacier, Spantik, and Diran peaks. Accessible via a moderate uphill hike from the lakeside villages, the meadow is ideal for day hikes, picnics, photography, and camping. Its high-altitude grasslands provide a tranquil escape into nature, away from the crowds.
Patundas Trek
The Patundas Trek starts at Borit Lake near Ghulkin in Upper Hunza and ascends to the Patundas Meadows at 4,100–4,300 meters. This moderate-to-challenging trek offers spectacular views of the Passu Cones, Batura Glacier, and surrounding Karakoram peaks. Trekkers pass through alpine meadows, glacial streams, and rugged mountain paths, staying overnight at camps like Passugar and Luzdhar before reaching the summit meadows. The trek combines adventure with breathtaking scenery, making it a must-do for high-altitude explorers.
Itinerary
Day 1 – Islamabad → Naran
Early morning departure from Islamabad.
Drive through Kaghan Valley via Mansehra and Balakot.
Arrive in Naran; short evening walk along Kunhar River.
Overnight: Hotel
Day 2 – Naran → Gilgit via Babusar Top
Early departure toward Babusar Pass.
Cross Babusar Top (4,173 m).
Descend into Chilas Valley and Stop at Nanga Parbat Viewpoint (near Thalichi ) and River Junction.
Overnight: Hotel
Day 3 – Gilgit → Attabad Lake (Upper Hunza)
Drive north on Karakoram Highway.
Stop at Rakaposhi viewpoint and river junctions. Arrive at Attabad Lake sunset lakeside walk and Baskochi Meadow.
Overnight: Hotel
Day 4 – Attabad Lake-Baldiyat Meadow
Panoramic views of Attabad Lake below via Garait village name.
Views of Hispar Glacier, Spantik, Diran, and surrounding peaks 5/6 hours
Ideal spot for photography, picnic, and nature immersion
Overnight: Camping
Day 5 – Baldiyat-Borit Lake
Descend from Baldiyat to Borit Lake. Visit old settlement Gulmit, Hussaini Bridge and Passu cones.
Overnight :Camping
Day 6 – Borit Lake-Passugar
Borit Lake, views of Passu Cones and Batura Glacier, lush alpine scenery, at Passugar or nearby meadow.
Overnight: Camping
Day 7 – Passugar-Luzdhar
Vast alpine pastures, 360° views of Shispare, Ultar Sar, and Batura Glacier, ideal for photography and relaxation. Camp at Patundas Meadows.
Overnight: Camping
Day 8 – Patundas Meadow
Early morning sunrise yoga in open meadow overlooking glaciers.
Dedicated nature and mountain photography sessions.
Afternoon optional hike to higher viewpoints.
Sunset photography.
Overnight: Camping (Patundas)
Day 9 – Patundas Meadow-Passugar
Enjoy last views of the Karakoram peaks, descend through alpine meadows and glacial streams.
Overnight: Camping
Day 10 – Passugar-Borit lake
Descend through alpine meadows and glacial streams.
End: Arrive back at Borit Lake, trek concludes.
Overnight: Camping
Day 11 – Borit lake-Gilgit
Return drive to Gilgit along Karakoram Highway.
Short scenic stops en route.Visit Kargha Buddha.
Overnight: Hotel
Day 12 – Gilgit -Islamabad
Morning domestic flight from Gilgit to Islamabad (weather permitting).
Backup plan: If the flight is canceled, the group will travel by road via Karakoram Highway.
Day 13 – Islamabad
Visit Pakistan Monument & Museum, Lok Versa Museum, Daman-e-Koh and After noon Visit Rawalpindi old bazar.
Overnight:Hotel
Day 14 – Homebound Flight
Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for homebound flight.
